The snippet below is from a great article by the folks at Thinkvitamin.com (read the full article here): User Experience can mean many things to many people, but we all agree that the end result is happy users. Unfortunately a lot of people feel that UX begins and ends with their site or app. My [...]

Mozingo Clothiers gets a fresh new look!

latestwork_mozingo

When Charlie Mozingo of Mozingo Clothiers (formerly Latham Thomas) came to us, he had an outdated, but well done full flash site. A few years back, we used to be on the flash wagon, but with browsers evolving and the way that we view the web constantly changing, flash is quickly becoming a dinosaur. After meeting with Charlie, he wanted to keep the same kind of look that he had with Latham Thomas, but just add a modern (today) flair to it.

New life for Saint Richard Catholic Church’s website…

latestwork_str

Saint Richard Catholic Church came to us looking for not only an enhanced web presence, but also a website that multiple staff members could update as well as incorporating a robust calendar. This update gives the Saint Richard faithful simplicity, making it easier to read and find precisely what they’re looking for. While you’re browsing the site, its appearance has a modern twist, with still a traditional feel…we wanted to appeal to the youth, but not leave the elder out of the equation.

Enhanced Wellness gets a healthy transformation…

latestwork_EW

The Enhanced Wellness crew came to us looking to revamp their website. Their old website had the earthtones and colors they liked but lacked the personal and inviting touch that they wanted to promote. Normally…we “hit the nail on the head” on the first strike when it comes to designs…well…with this one…not so much! Our first round of designs…we had a little too much of a masculine feel and can honestly say for the first time with any client…they did not like anything!

We’re NOT Web Designers…

Everyone in this industry fills dozens of roles throughout a given day. On a call with a prospective client, we take the role of salesperson. After the contract is sorted, we become researchers, combing through the client’s outdated website, looking at analytics and identifying breakdowns and room for improvement. Soon after, we become content curators, wading through the piles of content in PDF format sent by the client, identifying what works and what doesn’t.

The Future of Flash…is there a future?

“The message is the message is the message.” I was on the “Flash Train” a few years back, but…

Yes…Color Does Matter

Color in design is very subjective. What evokes one reaction in one person may evoke a very different reaction in someone else. Sometimes this is due to personal preference, and other times due to cultural background. Color theory is a science in itself. Studying how colors affect different people, either individually or as a group, is something some people build their careers on. And there’s a lot to it. Something as simple as changing the exact hue or saturation of a color can evoke a completely different feeling. Cultural differences mean that something that’s happy and uplifting in one country can be depressing in another.
